Welcome To The Shoals’ Latest Music Video!

‘Anything’

But First, Meet The Band

The Shoals band formed back in 2021, in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. The guitarist, Rhys Williamson, is known for writing the lyrics in each song produced as well as having a strong friendship with our lead singer, Finley Price. The lyricist and guitarist, Rhys, aims to use creative expression in order to reach our target audience (listeners of experimental and indie rock music). The band’s drummer is Lyndon Scott, who joined just after the bassist Evan Sparrow. Rhys Williamson also featured in the latest music video, as he felt it would add an authentic touch due to him writing the lyrics and storyline of ‘Anything’.

The band has also performed recently in August and September 2025. This show-stopping performance involved their most recent album and performing their latest addition to the album, ‘Anything’.

A Little Bit About Us & Our Latest Projects

We had designed this website with the target audience of our music video in mind. Therefore, this website allows you to discover the inspiration behind the song as well as gauge an understanding of the scenes filmed and which made the cut in the music video. We discuss what the lyricism means to us and the narrative which we believed would be best suited to our discography and the individual song, ‘Anything’. As we like to expand our music variety by incorporating songs which will resonate with the masses however we have an understanding that a more refined (indie rock) audience will rather feel more attracted.

This website has been made to educate and express a creative outlet catered to fans and young audiences of the indie-rock genre.

Why Should I Watch The Latest ‘Anything’ Music Video?

Allow us to share our story for our new music video, which involves the infamous band The Shoals. Our most recent project is an original music video featuring our latest song, ‘Anything’. This has been released in the winter of 2025 and we urge you to watch it.

Have you ever watched a film and thought, ‘I wish I could re-watch this for the first time again’? Well, this is due to the feeling the film/product has created, which is similar to nostalgia (releasing of oxytocin and dopamine), which our soundtracks and lyrics focus on constructing in order for you (our audience) to feel a deeper sense of connection to our music.

We believe in creating music products which avoid selling aspirational lifestyles – because it’s not many people’s day-to-day experiences, and it wasn’t for each band member growing up. Therefore, we steer away from creating false hope and misconstrued representations ; however, we do showcase the beauty in hardships and in growing older, which serves as a counter-type to mainstream music videos, yet we do embed cultural and action codes such as lip-syncing for entertainment purposes and cultural understanding of our work.

The music video is catered to a mass audience, yet it covers themes and topics which a more refined audience will relate to. If you’re an indie-rock and alternative-rock pop fan, you will enjoy the concept (which is based on a coming-of-age genre) and the soundtrack, which complement each other seamlessly.

This website showcases many different elements which are important to the production of our new music video. Allowing guidance through the central concept and genre, to connect with other listeners.

This is our latest release for ‘Anything’, available on YouTube. Our other media platforms will have more content and insight as well as exclusive posts regarding this music video!

We have provided you with different segments which portray each important element of the process and the inspiration behind this production, including Behind The Lens and In The Studio (behind the scenes & meeting the cast), as well as Upcoming Projects for 2026. This music video is catered to newer/younger fans as well as those who are pre-existing older indie rock fans.

Indie Rock & Coming Of Age

It has come to our attention through the filming and soundtrack production that indie rock and the infamous coming-of-age genre are complementary – at least to us (The Shoals). We believe that there is a gap within the music industry which we can fill, and due to our latest music video’s central concept of a coming-of-age genre, as we believe it is important, we include a cinematography style which orchestrates this, which we have done by delving into the rebellious nature of late teen hood/adulthood as well as the exploration of naivety and first relationships.

The Influence Of Coming Of Age On Lyrics

Lyrics which highlight the transformation throughout adolescence

(Within Verse 1)

And though you’ll mix up every detail
Of every story that you’re ever gonna tell me
But if it means that we’ll get through

And when we drink it just gets funnier
And to be honest, I don’t mind us drunk

(Within Chorus)

I won’t smoke if you don’t no more
‘Cause I know you hate the taste of it.

These lyrics are authentic and express a sense of nostalgia whilst reminiscing on teenhood whilst representing the difficulties we face whilst growing up (addictions, e.g., smoking) and navigating our personal interests, which intertwine within relationships due to the awkward growth stage, which makes opportunities tricky to balance between childhood and adulthood, which feels isolating yet has been experienced by every adult today.
